I wanted this song to have a cinematic feel to it. My childhood and long-time friend, Udochi Wilson, joined me on the song to give it that feeling. She did the voiceover work here and I was hoping it would translate like it does in film. I thought giving the typical Dear John letter a twist would be compelling. So this is a Dear Jane letter...where the female gets the pink-slip. The mood of the track, produced by another East Coast beatmaker named PK, really complemented the concept.
